Pre-race routine:

My wife and I and a teacher friend of hers did this as a relay! My first relay.
Got up early and met our teammate Mike and rode up with him and his brother. WE were up at 4:15 and go there at 5:15. No need to hurry because a transition spot was meaningless.

My wife has swam maybe 3 times before this race. 1 time she swam the pond full lap. So she did awesome. She was sprinting up the beach and elbowing slower runners out of the way. She had finished her longest swim ever and loved it. She swam the whole time freestyle and was happy.

Swim more.

Mike did well for his first triathlon ride experience. He is a BOP cyclist on a team in town. He had a smile on his face and rode well! Way to go Mike.

I had the fastest relay split even in the males relays! Pretty happy. I kept it conservative the first 3 miles then pushed hard after that. It was hot out and I pour water and ice over my head at ever aid station. I passed a ton of people. wEll All I had to do was run. People kept sayign, great run, and I would say I'm in a relay. I must have said that a dozen times. It was fun. I was never passed and caught all but 3 relay teams in or coed group. We were 2 minutes back of the 3 place team and 12 minutes out of first. great run.
What would you do differently?:

Run faster. I should have kept a fastere pace from the start. I had a huge kick at the end.

WEll done 5430 sports and Barry and Jodee Siff. Just awesome on a hot day. Good to see everyone have a super day out there. It was fun seeing everyone on the bikes and in transition. I have never really spectated and got to see all the BT'ers in transition, on the bike or on the run! Very fun day. I think we are doing it as a relay again next year because I am not doing any long course next year.
