Swim
Comments: I felt really good even though I'd only been in the water once in the last month. It was pretty crowded during the entire route. What would you do differently?: Start in the front instead of the side - I got caught behind some slower swimmers and had to go around, wasting energy Transition 1
Comments: My bike was racked at least a quarter mile from the exit and another 100yds to the bike start. The majority of my transition was spent running to and fro. What would you do differently?: Hope for a rack assignment closer to the swim exit/bike start! Oh, and run faster. Bike
Comments: Very very wet. My bike was very squeaky! What would you do differently?: Ask the rain gods to hold off for a little bit before the downpour. Transition 2
Comments: Immediately after the dismount area was a slight down slope that was trampled grass and mud - I almost fell on my butt trying to run and turn towards my rack. Run
Comments: Very very wet. Have I mentioned it was raining? My shoes were sodden and I got a blister on a couple toes. Love running in the rain though. What would you do differently?: Run faster. Post race
Warm down: Walked the half mile (or so it seemed) back to my bike then up the hill to my car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Gross out-of-shapeness. I was also a wee bit cautious on the bike due to the rain and amount of blood I saw on a few athletes' legs. Event comments: I will definitely do Danskin again. I've never done an all-female event and the energy was very different, very positive. Definitely the best organized event I've been to. Last updated: 2007-08-20 12:00 AM

Got there a little more than an hour before my wave start (7:34). Cold, wet, a little nervous. Lots and lots of people, the racks were pretty tight. All bikes were supposed to be racked the day before the event but some people apparently didn't get the memo and were trying to make room for their bikes. In the process, my handlebars were shoved into some else's spokes. When I tried to pull them loose the whole rack tipped over. Not a good omen. Luckily, everyone was cool and we got it all straightened out.
None really. I treaded water for about 30s to see how cold it was. Result: it was cold.
