  • Comments: The race itself was very well run. The after race facility was a nightmare. I'm glad that I got to the goodie section first and didn't have to wait through that really long line. This race was the goal of all this training and effort and I made it. Unfortunately, this may be my last race as I have developed a very painful inflammation problem which may end my racing career. I still have plans to continue next year but we'll just have to see.

  • Comments: Event was very well organized with support staff at every intersection. Safety was a priority. Gave a 4 because of the rather unsafe Day Street turn.

  • Comments: Fun course - lots of encouragement from volunteers. The rece packet pickup day the day before is a bit of a cluster, but worth the effort for the actual race. Get there early and park near the park. Get to packet pick-up 30 minutes early on Saturday :)

  • Comments: This was my first triathlon so I don't have anything to compare it to. I will have to say that retrieving my bike from the site was painful due to the lack of parking and the small residential community we were in. It took an hour and a half to get back to my car and drive back to race then find a way to get my bike. That was the worst part ever.I am hoping future triathlons have a better way of organizing that.

  • Comments: This was my first triathlon and did it 10 months after my final radiation treatment for breast cancer. In general, it was a great experience. I beat every goal I had. The Expo & Packet pick up took much longer than I anticipated. Next time, I would wait until later to go (instead of first thing) so there are no lines. We got to Meydenbauer just at opening and the line was around the building. We waited almost an hour just to get in. On race day, I was glad that we got dropped off and picked up at park. Traffic was a nightmare and if we had to catch a shuttle and then go back to pick up our bikes, it would have taken all day. As it was, it took over an hour to get to the freeway. Carpooling is a great way to go!

  • Comments: Overall, this was my first Sprint and I really wanted to finish under 2 hrs. I missed it by 5 minutes but given that I messed up a quad and had a transition spot in another state, I'm giving myself a break and just enjoying that I finished!

  • Comments: Very crowded, probably good for a recreational athlete or a beginner. It was nice for me to use as a training race, but I won't do it again unless I have a beginner friend who wants me to do one with them. Quite the estrogen-fest.

  • Comments: this was hands down the FUNNEST race i've ever done. and my first time to BREAK 2 HOURS!!! i didn't know my time until actually like 10 hours after the race, because of my stupid watch, but i was really really hoping it would be under two hours, and IT WAS!!!! this was epic for me. i had fun, i raced well, i broke 2 hours, i couldn't be happier. i don't know if i'll do danskin again or not, but i had the absolute best time ever today.

  • Comments: I won't do Danskin again. I have outgrown it. I only signed up because two of my friends were doing it, one of them I fell out with and the other hurt her knee. It's a great race for newcomers, friends and family but can be extremely frustrating if you're aiming for a good time. Still I do love the course.

  • Comments: This race was well organized but it was just too crowded for me. I was really uncomfortable in the water hearing people completely panicking all around me. It caters to so many real newbies that it was frustrating at times. I was excited though because it was my best swim performance and best bike time so far!

  • Comments: I do this race for the camraderie but not for the course. Its just too big to be have it be my best race, the transition area is huge, the swim course and bike course is crowded. I usually have a great time and like just being able to have fun there. Unfortunately, the rain kind of dampered the spirits a bit.

  • Comments: I will definitely do Danskin again. I've never done an all-female event and the energy was very different, very positive. Definitely the best organized event I've been to.

  • Comments: There are some things I saw on the race that will stick with me. The three women behind me, including Julianne, hugging each other as they realized they all belonged to the "one boob" club. The swim angel making her way over to one of those women who still didn't have full range of motion from her mastectomy. Sally Edwards giving us our word and cheering us on like we were the first wave, the best wave, and the most important wave. Julianne comforting a panicked swimmer. The man before the swim bolting around trying to figure out what wave his mother was in so he could help her find her place. The spectators lining the swim exit cheering and hollering as if we were Olympic Athletes. The volunteers helping women with flat tires on the bike. A crowd of women helping up a rider who crashed. The beautiful grey of Lake Washington from the bridge on the bike. The volunteers thanking us...THANKING US! Sports Jelly Bellies! The volunteer high fiving women on both sides. The older heavy lady

  • Comments: I am glad I did the race, since signing up for it was what started me on the course to doing triathlons. However, I don't think I will do it again, as the logistics were very annoying and spending most of two days to do the race was too much. Perhaps if the weather had been better, I would have felt differently, but there still would have been 4000+ competitors and it would have still been crowded!!! So far, I like the smaller races....although I appreciate the mark that the Danskin has left on the tri world.
