Total Time = 1h 22m 49s
Overall Rank = 185/387
Age Group = 40-44
Age Group Rank = 25/43
Pre-race routine:

Early morning coffee, toast, jelly....hour and a half travel, not too bad. Good visit w/ Jac/Kyle/Jim. Good to have my little one around as well.
Event warmup:

not enough time in the water...could have helped my goggles problem.
Swim
  • 07m 22s
  • 300 yards
  • 02m 28s / 100 yards
Comments:

Started out fine...however, immediately, water kept getting to my goggles...had to correct at shallow end every time...no rhythm. Good thing I had plenty of space w/o getting in no one's way...Last 75 just miserable...for some reason, breathing was hard and I just made it through...I think two to three people passed me...
What would you do differently?:

HAVE TO GET IN THE WATER MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Transition 1
  • 02m 12s
Comments:

a bit disoriented getting out of the pool...went by my rack..oops. bib number kept getting lose. issues w/ belt..Way too long transition..
What would you do differently?:

pay better attention to rack location...
Bike
  • 47m 54s
  • 14 miles
  • 17.54 mile/hr
Comments:

beginning was a bit rough, could not get clipped in. relaxed to first turn and into the first 10 minutes...death hill w/ cementary close by, once past that site, comfortable and good ride...only one person passed me :) Last straight was lonely. At one point in the latter part, could not see anyone for as long as I could see. Steady ride.
What would you do differently?:

Need more base to maintain a higher cadence on hills on bigger ring.
Transition 2
  • 01m 31s
Comments:

to rack was long...was trying to get under 1 min...not too bad, it was just that there was a long run in and out...
Run
  • 23m 47s
  • 2.9 miles
  • 08m 12s  min/mile
Comments:

made full circle to get to the rack...helped to get my running legs under. Then it was out on the course passing people here and there...again, my most comfortable part of the race. Lot better than last year.
What would you do differently?:

train more bike/run sessions...
Post race
Warm down:

chatted, ate, awards... Two of my school kids placed, first and second. Good job jac/kyl.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough base in all disciplines....

Event comments:

Jack!! Does a good job. There were hills...somewhat hilly my foot.
