Swim
Comments: Very crowded - -passed 6 to 10 people and didn't get passed. Did not like the swim. What would you do differently?: Not much. The swim was okay, but could've been better had there not been so many 'traffic' issues. Transition 1
Comments: Reverse tri - - so the swim was last. Got my helmet, shoes, socks, and shirt off quickly. Very weird feeling to run after the bike and jump into the pool. I did have a little issue with unclipping my 2nd foot. I stopped at the Dismount and unclipped with no problem. Trying to get my other foot unclipped so I could dismount took a little while. What would you do differently?: Probably could've transitioned a little fatser. Bike
Comments: I still need to work on improving here - but people tell me that this is this easiest area to improve on. I think some more group rides would be helpful (as long as the group is faster than me). Either that or I need a lesson on how to ride a bike. What would you do differently?: Ride faster. I need to work on riding hills. The wind also really seems to hamper me. Transition 2
Comments: Again, it's a reverse. No problem slipping off my running shoes and getting my bike shoes on. Helmet on and I'm off! Run
Comments: Tried to keep up with Sally (riorio) as she is a faster runner. We stayed together for the first half of the run and then she slowly pulled away (but never out of sight!). Still, this is a PR for a 5K for me! Considering how hot it was for the start of this nightime race, I think I should be able to go 22:xx in my next 5K (2 weeks). What would you do differently?: Stay with Sally the whole time. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, got some Gatorade and some water, watched and cheered the other BTer's on to the finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: The heat, the wind, my inexperience on the bike Event comments: Couple of gripes. First, there were no timing chips - - it was a running clock. Luckliy, we started near the front. On the bike, they only had certain portions coned off and there was traffic on the course. At one point, you even have to go in front of cars to turn left. There was a policeman there on the 2nd loop. The swim was a clusterf**k. As this is my strongest leg, I need to make up some time in the pool. Tough to do with this up-and-back in every lane thing they had going on. Very congested. Last updated: 2007-09-06 12:00 AM
