Run
Comments: My goal was to break 65 mins, and I did 64:20. I actually negative split the race (32:51, 31:29), because the crowd was pretty thick the first half and thinned out at the end and I had an easier time passing people. Considering I just started running in April, I am happy about my time for my first 10K! :) What would you do differently?: Get further up in the pack and not start at the very back. Post race
Warm down: Walked back to office. I was going to shower there, but just wanted to get home and soak in my tub. My husband pampered me all afternoon, and we got our Christmas tree up. Even though the weather was cold and dreary, it was a good day. What limited your ability to perform faster: I've only been running a few months, and I still do run/walk intervals. Event comments: I have never considered myself a runner (and still don't), but I am getting faster and my endurance has increased. I need to find my next race and build from here. Still not sure if an Olympic distance triathlon is in my future, but at least I know I can finish the run. And I even beat the guy in the snowman costume. :) Last updated: 2007-09-27 12:00 AM

Coffee, yogurt, and banana for breakfast. Parked at my office about a mile away from the race site. Walked down to the site, and got my race bib and chip. Looked for BT Team members, but no luck. I saw a few BTers just before the start, but they got in the chute that was much too fast for me considering this was my first 10K race. So I started at the very back with the walkers, jogging strollers, and the guy in the snowman costume.
None really.
