  • Comments: Race was ok but personally I didn't care for the crowd, would have been nice to do a loop instead of out and back but I guess the mileage just didn't work for that.

  • Comments: I'm really pleased because this is exactly 4 weeks after the Richmond Marathon and it indicates that the recovery has gone pretty well. And this was never intended to be anything less than a fun run. Good lesson about the benefits of being really relaxed for a race. Or maybe the motivational secret is in not being able to pee before the race. Concentrates the mind wonderfully on that finish line!

  • Comments: Well organized. Almost twice as many runners this year than last year. They need to add more porta potties.

  • Comments: Great little winter race - low-key, close to home and cookies afterwards are always a plus! Lots of people in crazy costumes, a good one to just have fun with.

  • Comments: The setup for this race was a joke. 1. There were way too few port-a-poties. 2. We had to write our numbers on tape and affix them to a bag for identification and give them to like the one guy running the entire bag check. 3. Bag check was wide open..... what if it rained. 4. The whole set up was next to the smelly trees, which at first I thought were the port-a-potties. 5. The gate to the fence was locked 4000 people and one entrance to the park is locked...... really? F-ing really? Someone ghetto rigged some chairs so the people could climb over. Can you say insurance liability? I'm bringing bolt cutters next year. I'm glad I got to experience this race 4 years ago when it was actually good. The start was actually at the old post office in the middle of the city. It was beautiful. They shut down the streets and everyone got to run around the city. Not as fast as a course as West Potomac Park, but much more memorable and organized. My thanks go out to the people that

  • Comments: I have never considered myself a runner (and still don't), but I am getting faster and my endurance has increased. I need to find my next race and build from here. Still not sure if an Olympic distance triathlon is in my future, but at least I know I can finish the run. And I even beat the guy in the snowman costume. :)

  • Comments: Thanks to Newleaf for putting this all together and the good times afterward. I think that the Green Team beat us barely not because they are superior athletes but because of the nice hats that Jody made for them. Next year, she is on our team.
