Comments: hydrated well. usually had one gatorade and one water at aid station. ate one pack of jelly beans throughout entire race. hit the wall at appx 15 -16 mile point. family, friends and other runners kept me going. walked appx 1/4 of the way from mile 17 on. What would you do differently?: will try to increase my base run to 10 miles, or simply choose an intermediate, instead of beginner plan. although i tried to hold back at beginning of race, i wasn't able to get into my 9 min/mile pace until mile four. instead of shooting for 4 hour pace, might shoot for 4:15. greased and covered the needed areas well. quads, now calves hurt like heck. I will take a few ibuprofen before race. I will eat more beans during race. I DID IT !!! Post race
