Swim
Comments: The first 500 yards was good, then I could not get my breathing down. I got an infection in my chest on Thursday before the race. All my training and my day as off to a bad start. I had to do back stroke for the rest of the swim. What would you do differently?: NOT GET SICK!!! Transition 1
Comments: T1 was ok! What would you do differently?: I felt that I did all I could do. Bike
Comments: I started to feel better and I was able to get my breathing down. After the first 15 miles I was on my pace. Then I was having a problem getting oxygen into my system. At mile 35, my chain came off and as I was getting off of my bike. My legs could not hold me up and over I went. My knee hit the ground and my front derailed got damaged. The rest of the ride, I was not able to get myself going on the bike. The rest of the ride, I was doing around 12 miles per hour. What would you do differently?: Not fall off my bike!! Transition 2
Comments: I almost didn't go out on the run. My knee was hurting so bad that I was not able to put much pressure on it. Run
Comments: I was only able to run about one mile. If it was not for my daughter, I would have stopped and turned around for the Condo. She walked the whole second loop with me in flip flops and sweats. She was a great trooper! She got a lot of smiles from the crowds and people cheering her on. She even brought me a candy bar and a cold bottle of water. What would you do differently?: Nothing I could do different. This event was not mine to do well in. Post race
Warm down: Food with the Family and friends!! Slept about 13 hours. What limited your ability to perform faster: Getting sick!! Event comments: This is the second year my Brother-in-law have done this event. Next year we are looking to Florida 70.3 or the Hawaii 70.3. Last updated: 2007-10-15 12:00 AM

Walked down from the Condo with my Family and my Bother-in-law Joe. Watched the Pro's get their stuff set up and get ready to go off.
Did a few laps around the transition area to get the oxygen flowing!
