Swim
Comments: I could see people from the next wave passing me, which freaked me out. What would you do differently?: Train more on the swim. It's not as convenient to get a swim in as it is a ride or run. Transition 1
Comments: It felt like it was taking me forever in T1, but I knew I needed sunscreen. I'm so glad I took the time to apply it. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: This was a good bike course, hilly but only one pretty wicked hill. I was passed by some, but passed some as well. The chip seal sucked on some of the course. I managed to eat and drink just enough on the bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing, I feel I did the pace I needed to so I'd have legs for the run! Transition 2
Comments: This transition also seemed long, but again I didn't want to skip the sunscreen. No need to add the pain of a sunburn to the other aches and pains I knew I'd experience. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: The run felt good, I didn't push, just ran a comfortable pace. The first mile was a little rough. I had to stop 3 times to potty. If not for that my run would have been even better. I saw and chatted with Susan for a little while, I also saw Jeepfleeb and Big Red. I felt good throughout the run, but I was really hurting about 1 1/2 miles from the finish. What would you do differently?: Nothing, I'm happy with my run time. Post race
Warm down: Joe gave me a great massage after I came in:) As I lay there in the grass I heard them calling me up to receive my prize. I had no idea I placed, I just wanted to finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: If I had more time to train I'd be faster. Event comments: I loved this race. After I received my plaque, they announced my name for the raffle, I had also won a new wetsuit! What a great day. Last updated: 2007-10-28 12:00 AM

We woke up around 4:30, a little late. We were up late the night before at our niece's wedding. I had a bagel around 5:30. Joe made breakfast tacos the night before and we had those after we got to the race site around 6:50. I had until 7:15 to set up my transition! (a wreck on I-10 had the freeway closed, so we sat for nearly an hour waiting to get through. I was in tears at one point thinking I would miss my race)
My warm up was to run to the bathroom then over to body marking and back to get my timing chip. Basically my warm up consisted of running around getting set up. Joe set my transition up for me:)
