Run
Comments: Decent run. Went out at 7:10 for the 1st mile and settled into what I thought was about a 7:45 pace (according to the Garmin - Garmin had the course at 3.9m). Not bad considering Icy Conditions. Transition 1
Comments: Not to quick considering all of the layers and lacing up the MTB shoes. Bike
Comments: The MTB was faster than I expected (a little less than 2 mph slower than last year on the road bike w/ dry conditions). I did what I could to catch Gavin who had me by 2+ minutes on the run. Then out of nowhere, Vik passed me with about 200 yds to go - I was able to hammer at the end and just beat him and another guy to the line. This was a fun finish but man were my 'boys' cold. What would you do differently?: Protect whats important. Transition 2

Post race
Warm down: Several minutes in the heated seat then to Wahoo's with the BT group. Scott was the smart one. Event comments: Good to see so many familiar faces - It's the people, not the race that makes this fun for me. Last updated: 2007-12-09 12:00 AM

Julia didn't have a bike to race (other than the MTB) so we decided that she would have kid duty and I would race. Thinking the roads would be dry, I loaded both the MTB and the new Specialized (the 'sexy' bike as Julia likes to put it).
We arrived to snowy roads about 35 minutes before the race so I kept the sexy bike warm in the truck and preped the MTB. No time for a real warm up.
