Swim
Comments: I am looking forward to lake swims too, but this was a pretty good pool swim for me. Transition 1
Comments: Fixed 10 min transition. Just about enough time to get everything in place and get seated. Bike
Comments: Fixed 30 minute bike. These bikes are notoriously difficult. Cadence makes less of a difference than resistance, so I pushed the biggest number I could and stay above 80 rpms. Just as hot in the room as last year. Glad I wore my biking shoes. What would you do differently?: I haven't been a bike much since the Fall. If I wanted to do better, I would have had to practice. Transition 2
Comments: Another fixed 10 minutes. Low pressure here since already dressed, and the tmills were nearby. Just did some stretching and switched shoes. Run
Comments: One of the better treadmill runs in a long time. This room was much cooler than it was last year, I felt strong the whole time. Used my iPod which helped the time go by. Was just happy to be done. One short walking break halfway, but I never ran below 6.2 otherwise. Post race
Warm down: Slowed the treadmill to a short walk, stretched. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of bike practice. But I definitely did my best today. Event comments: Huge improvement in attitude over last year. I finished today thinking I may come back again next year. Last year I was adamant I would not. I've definitely improved in all areas over the year, so it was a good comparison. Last updated: 2007-12-14 12:00 AM

Tried oatmeal and bananas this time - pretty good! It was damn cold this morning, but I decided to go anyway since my garage door was willing to open. Sometimes it sticks in the cold and I was hoping for a sign.
