  • Comments: I enjoyed myself this time, more than usual. I had no expectations. We ended up in a later heat than desired; we thought it would be a lot hotter as the day went on. Turned out it was no different than a morning heat. If/when I come back, I'd do 10 am or thereabouts. It would be nice to not get up early, but be done in time for lunch!

  • Comments: I thought it was a well organized and well staffed race. The volunteers were very eager to get water or anything else the competitors needed during the race and were even helping to cheer everyone throughout the event. I had fun and I know my wife really enjoyed the experience of her first tri. She already said that she wants to make this an annual thing for us to do together. She hasn't jumped into triathlon with both feet yet but I can see the bug starting to grow. Maybe it is just a matter of time now. EDIT: Now that the official results are posted it looks like my techincal difficulties on the bike cost me 2nd place in my age group. Was only .033 miles behind 2nd place. BAH! Really frustrating. I'm not sure if it helps or hurts more though that some superstar came in and crushed us both by over 4 miles. Impressive.

  • Comments: I thought this was a great event. It seemed really well organized and there were lots of helpful volunteers. We got a nice down vest in our race bag (a good change from a T-shirt). My only complaint would be about the heat, but I knew that ahead of time and I'm not sure they could have had any more fans going (although at least ONE by the treadmills would have been nice). A great experience for my first triathlon. Now my husband is trying to convince me to do an outdoor one :)

  • Comments: Ten minute transitions were just right. Long enough to stretch and change, but not so long as to let you relax. If there was anything I'd change, it was the temperature inside or the lack of fans. I was pretty sweaty and some air flow would have been nice. I'm definitely going to do this race again, though. It was a great time Total Distance: 15.172 miles

  • Comments: Last year my numbers were 1.05 mi in the pool, 6.65 mi on the bike, 2.11 mi on the run totaling 9.80 miles for the whole race. I was last in my age group and I promised never to be that way again. This year, I was a little slower in the pool, which I wanted, much faster on the run and on the bike. My totals were 1.015 miles in the pool (this is a swim mile=1650 yds), 8.39 miles on the bike, and 2.62 miles on the treadmill, totaling 12.025 miles!! I am so proud of my effort today and this is the start of an awesome race season. There are some other indoor triathlons and I am looking into those. I keep motivated to train hard when I race every once and awhile. But today was a huge victory for me. I will update my standing as soon as I get the final results so look for those :) Well the overall results have been figured out and I put them in....I am truly amazed and overjoyed by the results. I think I might figure out last years just as a comparison, but this has really affirmed

  • Comments: Huge improvement in attitude over last year. I finished today thinking I may come back again next year. Last year I was adamant I would not. I've definitely improved in all areas over the year, so it was a good comparison.

  • Comments: I really enjoyed this race and wish I would've trained more for it...I needed a kick in the butt. I am glad I was able to finish - I didn't think I would be able to when I got sick in the pool, but it went away. It was fun hanging out with BTers afterward and at the Loring Pasta Bar, even though their service was definitely subpar. My overall rankings are for women only, I didn't account for the men.

  • Comments: My start time is 4:00 pm. There are pictures at http://triumah07.evidon.net but none of them are of me! :( This is a great indoor triathlon. The volunteers are really what take this race from being okay to great. Plus the goody bag is really great too. I am very very happy with myself here. The bike could have been better but looking at my two unusual circumstances I am very happy :) This was a great start to my race season!

  • Comments: This race would have been rated a 5 if they had more fans on the participants. I found it interesting that the bike area was an atrium with doors on both ends leading to the outdoors. Couldn't they have propped one open to get some cooler air in there? Perhaps I'll bring my own fan next year!

  • Comments: I love this race for several reasons. 1. It gives me something to shoot for in Feb. so I get my training kicked off. 2. It is a very well run race and the shwag is great. 3. With a whole wave of BT'ers how can it be anything but fun! I really enjoy getting together afterward to eat and socialize. The BT group is a great bunch of people!

  • Comments: I went farther this year in all three segments, so I'm glad about that. I still have a long way to go on the run, but at least the IT band is in check this year. This race is very well run and they had a lot of volunteers this year. The goody bag is great, and it was a total blast having an entire wave of just BT-ers. Can't wait to do it again next year!

  • Comments: This was a good thing to do, if only to make me realize that I need to get more intense sessions in. I felt really good on the swim, so that was a nice surprise. It was a really well-run event and I will totally do it next year so that I can blast this year's performance. Total distance = 12.96 miles. 1st in AG, 4th overall women

  • Comments: these are the official results. i have been dethrowned as the #1 on the bike in my age group...and i blame the damn bike! the woman who heads the tri team i'm on was the top woman. go jeanne! she got 15.77 miles! she is a rock star. i got a sad 12.07. sigh. right in between the first year and last year...so no PR for me. maybe next year. since they split the results by gender, its going to take too much time to compare myself to the boys...so i'm just going w/ the gender numbers. pictures here: http://www.salt2salt.com/waitzpix/index.php?album=2007Tri-U-Mah&dis... http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid... distances: 2005 = 11.21, 2006 = 12.82, 2007 = 12.01 (i blame my bike!) i really enjoy this race. of the two indoors i've done, i'll rate this as 'the best!' i've done it the last three years and it is CONSISTENTLY WELL RUN. it was so fun to have so many of the MN BT folk there. we were the first wave, and it was ALL BTers (other

  • Comments: Wow. What a way to start off my triathlon career. My total distance was 11.49. The goodie bag was awesome! A very nice Tri-U-Mah duffle bag wtih a frisbee, t-shirt with "Tri-U-Mah" on it, pizza cutter, travel mug, lip balm, pens. It was great to meet up with fellow BTers, putting some faces with names. We had lunch together at Annie's - burgers and...a malt. It was very good!

  • Comments: This is a great way to break up the long MN off season! It's also nice to do a race that's a slightly different format. The goodie bag was fantastic too (as described in Autumn's race report). Great opportunity to gather with fellow BT'ers. Well done, everyone!

  • Comments: Good race... the posting on the wall said 13.36 I think.. so not too shabby.. 15+ would be winning range... Pretty awsome pool facilities. Bikes sucked.. tredmills were strange. which I guess I was just not used to... Lots of winnings (bag, frisbee, t-shirt, pizza cutter, etc.) I will likely do this again next year.
