Run
Comments: This went as fast as I hoped. It was already warm. Last year 17:51. Transition 1
Comments: My transition area was right by the run-in, but about as far as possible from the bike-out. The racks were numbered this time, although this was my planned stategy. I was able to run well with the bike since the new bike steers with the seat really well. I took off my socks since I prefer them for running but I couldn't fit them in my bike shoes. It went quickly though. Bike
Comments: Last year 01:11:23, so I'm happy with this. Still getting used to the new bike. I put on my old seat from the Trek and we lowered it a bit, so it was a lot more comfortably than at my last race. I can work on the seat issue this winter, I needed to be able to get through the 22 miles today without permanently injuring something. What would you do differently?: More biking, more hills would never hurt. Transition 2
Comments: Ran with my bike back to my spot, which is a new one for me. Got on a fresh pair of socks and my shoes again, which went well, and hustled out of there. Pretty darn good for me. What would you do differently?: I did have my CO2 pump in my shirt, which I took in and out for the ride. I need to get a seat bag that will hold everything I need. Run
Comments: 00:19:26 last year, so VERY glad. I knew this was the area where I could improve the most. I only walked one tiny little bit, but everywhere I else I saw 6.4 mph on the Garmin at least whenever I checked. Tired but kept pushing - a big improvement for me. What would you do differently?: Could always run faster, but I'm pretty happy with this. Post race
Event comments: This is an excellent race and I would recommend it for any newcomer to racing. I want to try some other stuff next year so I doubt I will sign up, but I am hoping to volunteer. Iron Girl and Judy Molnar put on first class events. Last updated: 2007-12-14 12:00 AM

Peanut butter toast and a pop tart, banana, coffee. Left the house a bit later than usual since it's so easy to set up transition for a du. Got dropped off which is great. Met up with a friend, Jana, and we chatted until it was time to start.
