Run
Comments: Wanted to hit 55 minute, Under an hour would be good. Very crowded start. Took about 5 minutes to string out enough to run your pace. Mike hit it right off the bat he was gone. I ran with Ken the first mile, nice pace 8:12. Felt good tried to pull back a little. Two mile marker still feeling good. At 5K I was happy and trying to do math in my head. We'll find out if that is possible tuesday. Started up the return hill and the legs are starting to feel like lead. I know if I can make it to the top I can recover on downhill. I get there. Feeling good at start of next hill and know I need to keep it up. Mike meets me at two tenths to go another uphill to finishline. He run me up the hill and tells me it's time to hit hard, throw those elbows out and let it go. I finally pick up the clock 54:45. may do it. The turn makes it look decieving and can't quiet make it in under 55. Oh well the goals I set are good. Happy with run. What would you do differently?: Run a 1.5 seconds a mile faster. Drink the 8 oz bottle of water I carried with me. Post race
Event comments: Well Mike and I made the whole series. 6 races every other week. It's been great way to stay in shape and improve my running during the winter. What made it better is we were able to drag some other BTer out in the process. Thanks to all who made it out. The more the merrier. I feel good with all my finishes. My goals are set just right. Thanks to ken for driving to the last four races, Y for making it possible and Mike for pushing me and running when I could have used some company (you to Ken). I even got a compliment from another unknown runner that I finished today race well and looked good. Hey I'll take that. Thanks. Good to get to know a few people also doing the races. Up at 7:15. Little toast, water and coffee. R-stops. Ken picked me up and drove to Park & Ride to p/u Mike and Rob. Got there in plenty of time. Couple pee stops and off to start line.
1/4 mile run and stretch a little. Started mid pack.
