Comments:

this sucked !!! everything was going ok i was all set where i wanted and got to i guess 300m i seen a guy on my right and left ok so well the next breath out the left side all i seen was a right hook and felt a kick almost in the nuts. yea the guy on my right caught me with a big hit in the jaw dont know where the foot came from and that caused me to take in a lot i mean a lot of water . i tried to clear it but couldnt so the nice lifeguard came and asked if i needed help at first no but when she tossed the float my ass had to grab it . she was asking do you want to quit over and over but i couldnt even get out a no . so after a good 4-5 min i got it out NO she asked am i sure and i swam off . the rest was ok i guess i found that i would swim for a bit then side stroke to get my bearings and head off
What would you do differently?:

nothing things went ok after the lungs and jaw cleared up . well one thing i wish i would have got the girls phone # sense i was there
Transition 1
  • 03m 29s
Comments:

this was a long run i guess around 200 yd but the suit was half off by time i got to the bike and the only thing that got hung up was the bike on the rack
What would you do differently?:

i thought i did pretty good
Bike

  • 20.94 mile/hr
Comments:

that pace i dont think showes very good on paper ! i was rolling damn good and most of time except on hills it was more like 23 + mph but about mile 40 they put us on a road with cars so we got stuck inline and then there was a no passing zone after that . oh yea and our florida rain came in for like 1 1/2 hr on and off water was all over the road
What would you do differently?:

drink , drink
Transition 2
  • 01m 57s
Comments:

this is where i think things get odd there was another long run with the bike both ways from where you could get on and had to get off so you crossed the time mat then had to run 50 yds . and you had to get off and run the same back
Run
  • 2h 03m 1s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 09m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

this is where i fell apart not the first lap and most of the second was good but i felt it coming on . i walked the last aid sta. on 2nd lap to get down some food and water . and bby the 3rd lap it was all i could do to run . i was total cramps both quads above knees were just about locked up . i thought o would go to the walk 1 min run 5 but the body wouldnt let me run more then 2 min at a time . i knew it was lack of fluid but its to late when its that far on top of ya
What would you do differently?:

fluid on bike!!! i was busy charging people down to think about what i was doing

Post race
Warm down:

almost made it to medical for a few IV's but desided not to

What limited your ability to perform faster:

its all about the fluid i had everything planned out where and how much . but on my way home i was really thinking caused i missed something . then it came to me on my way out of T1 my bike tipped over and spilled my aero bottle down my leg not all of it and i was to hit the 3rd aid station for water to make another NUNN and missed is cause it was right after a corner it was raining so i went around wide to be safe . thats where i screwed myself . i dont know what the body weight % change was but it was a lot cause i was trying to get in as much as i could and i still go to the bathroon till about 10 hrs later and it was bad then

Event comments:

you know i was gonna piss and moan some more but WTF !! i did it !! and im happy (maybe not with the slowest 1/2 marry i ever ran) that i pulled it off chalk it up as a great day and i learned from it too so now i got something to beat !! but ill take the PR for now
