Run
Comments: Felt good for the first 15 miles or so. Really enjoyed the crowds along the road cheering the entire time. I waited too long to refuel, i.e. eat some of my nut mix, so around mile 15 I started to crash. After I ate some nuts I was feeling much better, until around mile 22, when my leg started to cramp up and I had to stop every half mile or so to massage out the knot that was forming in my leg. What would you do differently?: Try to eat some of the nut mix earlier on and take a banana. The potassium probably would have helped with the leg cramp. Post race
Warm down: Lots of walking, stretching and enjoying some food/water. What limited your ability to perform faster: The leg cramps. Event comments: A very fun race. The crowd made it so special as it was much easier to keep running when there's always people on the sidelines cheering you on, half of them in costumes and crazy get-ups. It really helped the miles fly by. Where are those people when we're on our training runs? Last updated: 2008-01-20 12:00 AM
