![]() Run
Comments: I started out and purposely tried to take it easy. Plan was to start at about 9 to 8:30 pace and build from there. I started out ok and then started to build a bit. I settled into a good pace from about mile 3-7. I was moving good and passing people. Then something happened and at mile 10 I just started slowing down. My legs were not sore. It was mental. Then all the people who I passed on the way out, started passing me on the way in. I was not happy. I hate that feeling. I wanted to run this race so much faster, but it just didn't happen. The good news is I ran 10 miles at a good pace. The bad news is, it was a 13.1 mile race. What would you do differently?: Do more tempo work and race pace work in training. Get my head in the game more. Take my hydration belt so I can hydrate when I want to. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked, stretched. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough training in zone 3 and 4 lately. Too much low heart rate training. Not enough mental intensity. Event comments: Lots of people. Glad they changed the route. It was getting hot out there, but on the way back in, we were shaded really well. Good call on the new route for the race. The cops in Aurora were high fiving us as we went by and blaring music from the back of their SUV's. That was pretty cool. Last updated: 2008-01-22 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:30 and had an english muffin with grape jelly and some gatorade.
Ran about a half mile, stretched, and tried to get focused.
