no routine just getting Steve and Lisa to their camp site and me heading to the race

So this swim was after the bike and I was told about cramping so I decided they water had not warmed up enough so I was gonna have to do a wetsuit again.....we are forming a decent relationship by now but I had to go with one arm out of the suit. First lap heading out and feel pretty good.....about 300 meters into I actually was grabbed on the calf? I have had contact in a race before but I had never had someones hand actually grab and kinda hold onto my calf.....my calves are nice and firm so they musta just wanted to cop a feel. This didnt lead to panic at all.......I was tempted though to take the suit off half way because the water was feeling warmer and boy I could feel my neck getter rawer but I left it on and continues. I was almost done and my calf...hey it was the same one that person grabbed? well it cramped up and wouldnt stop..wasnt sure if I should kick harder or let it hang so I tried to rub it out and the lifeguard on the raft said u ok I told him I had a cramp and wondered if I was allowed to hold on to the raft to rub it out and they said yes...so there I was and here comes Chris with the same issue....so we are rubbin together. I take off and decide to just let me leg hang and it stopped cramping. 3 swims down 1 to go....yeahhhhhhhh

racked bike heard my son...my parents and my son had come out...I told them when I thought I would be done with the bike so that was cool. My mother had just had both hips replaced...they were done 6 weeks apart and the second one just about 4 weeks ago so it was great that she made it out and was feeling really good. My son zipped my wetsuit up for me and I told him to leave it partially opened.....he didnt tell me I still had my race belt and number on!

I never walked any of it but I laughed so hard throughout it because I didnt want to cry. Going down the first giant hill was a freakin blast! I got to the bottom and thought wow that was fun but damn....I gotta go back up that! So we get to the turn around and start the climb....it was over 2 miles just up up up and away........two songs kept going thru my mind....first was Deirks Bentley's What Was I Thinkin and the other was CC Music Factory Things That Make You Go Hmmmmmmm. Got talking with a dude on the way up about having a beer on Sunday nite...then I said or two and then like the song....if I have one I'll have 13...there aint no in between so I started singing that awhile. Before I knew it was finally over and it was time to swim.

Again felt ok with my run....was tired but seeing everyone and giving and getting a bunch of high fives or thumbs up and great jobs makes this run the best!

Warm down:

Packed up my gear and headed home....my son was staying at my folks tonite and we were all going out to eat when I finished but decided it would be kinda late. My son had left me a message and said he was cooking my some chicken alfredo....and boy was it the best! Thanks Tanner!
