Comments: First mile was 6:16 (about right for the crowd) but as we wnet under Michigan ave my calf/achilles got really tight and i couldn't run. Got to sidewalk to stretch, massage and even swear a little bit. Tired to run - but couldn't put any pressure on it. Finally i decided to walk and started to jog a little - i recovered somewhat and was able to run again. I was disappointed, but things happen - i made the best of the situation. What would you do differently?: The starting corral situation i feel had alot to do with the muscle pull. We were in corrla for 15 minutes on a 37F cloudy morning. While i was loose and ready - i may have tightened up standing they. Ran in Shorts and long sleeve top. So i should've run in tights or kept some cheapo sweatpants with to discard. Should've brought more to starting line to stay warm Post race
Warm down: Ran back to 4 mile mark (car in parking lot) changed waited for daughter to come by and ran in with her. Hung around post race activity's before heading out for lunch at Potbelly's What limited your ability to perform faster: The lower leg problem.
