Pre-race routine:

Set the alarm for 5am, ate a Pb sandwich and drank a Gatorade.
Event warmup:

We stayed right next to the start so we walked over at about 6:15, that was great.

Comments:

Loved this run and course. It was a PR for me. I was shooting for 1:45, could have dont it if I had not blown the first few miles. I could not read my splits in the dark:)
My plan was to negative split the whole way, start out at 8:40 pace and cut down 5-10 seconds each mile.
It was one of those rare runs that everything felt great, it was easy.
What would you do differently?:

Watch the beginning splits more, I had plenty left at the end.
Post race
Warm down:

Met my wife at the finish, hung around to cheer on some friends. Back to the hotel for a shower and breakfast.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not paying attention to the first few miles, lining up too far back.

Event comments:

Loved every minute of it, thinking of doing the full next year.
