Swim
Comments: As usual the event started right on time. The open wve was not too big this time around and it was a nice smooth start. The guy who won took off like a bullet and that was the last I saw of him until the run he was flyin. The swim was pretty uneventful, goal was to swim fast but smooth and not push to the limit like I have done in the past at these sprint races. What would you do differently?: Nothing, good strategy happy with the swim. Transition 1
Comments: Not bad for T1 satyed right about even with all the folks I came into transition with. What would you do differently?: Nada Bike
Comments: Started out the ride smooth and tried to get my legs going, usually at these short races I come out of the water and am already at LT today I took it a little smoother in the water and started the bike out smooth until I got a good rythym. Overall I stayed with the folks I came out ot transition with and had a good bike got passsed by two guys who were haulin but did not let them get too far. Dropped to the smalll ring on some of the hills and just spun up them stayed aero and it worked well, ebveryone around me seemed to stay in the big ring and get out of the saddle, I made up gsome ground on each climb, so it was a good technique I think. What would you do differently?: Happy with this effort. Transition 2
Comments: Hit T2 and as I was getting near my rack I had to stop to avoid plowing into some of the people exiting for the bike. Then when I took off my helmet my glasses went flying. Oops... got them back and decided to go sans socks which was not the plan but I had already lost time because of runaway sunglasses. What would you do differently?: Not throw my glasses 15 feet in the opposite direction of where I needed to go! Run
Comments: After the flying glasses I got myself together and headed out, the run course had alittle shade but the sun was out pretty good now. My goal was to just stay steady on the first half then pick it up on the way home. This worked well and I did not blow up on the first mile and a half. Caught the two guys that apssed me on teh bike about half mile in and after that it was just maintain did not catch anyone else. The Zoot shoes enede up working out well for sans socks, which is a good thing beacuse I don't train like that and I took a risk doing it for the first time on a rcae day, it ended up paying off though no blisters, so props to zoot and the comfort of their shoes sockless. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and saw the ART folks, man my IT bands are tight, gonna make an appointment to go see em and get some work done cause I have had this issue for some time now and enough is enough time to get it fixed and avoid further injury. What limited your ability to perform faster: Happy with my overall performance considering my workouts have not been as consistant as I would like. This is something that is gonna have to change leading into Longhorn. Event comments: Cannot say enough about J&A's races alwasy top notch, Thanks to all the volunteers they were wonderful as always. This is a great race!!!! Last updated: 2008-02-25 12:00 AM

Woke up at 0345 did not sleep very well the night before. Ate oatmeal and a bagel, and drank coffee. Got everything together and loaded up the jeep. Drove to Texas ski ranch, much nicer drive form RR than it was from Harker Heights!!!!
After setting up Transition and picking up the chip, went for a dshort run down the access roas and then went to the lake and swam to the far turn buoy and back.
