Event warmup:

Light streaching and the walk to the swim start.
Swim
  • 12m 46s
  • 546 yards
  • 02m 20s / 100 yards
Comments:

Jumped off the dock and swam to the start. I felt good most of the way and didn't let the bumping bother me too much. The same thing happend I go for a ways and just stop my freestyle stroke and start doing the breast stroke. All I can say is at least I did the freestyle longer than I normaly do. It is all mental I need to get over it!!
What would you do differently?:

Spend more time in the pool. That said I beat last years swim by 3:31
Transition 1
  • 03m 22s
Comments:

I swam w/o a wetsuit and no shirt. I alway wear my shirt in the races when I swim. I lost my race belt so I attached the number to shit which means I had to put it on in T1.
What would you do differently?:

Get another race belt. I beat last years time by 1:18
Bike
  • 40m 23s
  • 12.5 miles
  • 18.57 mile/hr
Comments:

If my computer was correct I was going between 20.5 mph and 22.1 mph most of the way out with a top speed of 23 mph. On the way back the head wend keeped me between 17 mph and 19 mph with a low speed of 16 mph.
What would you do differently?:

I need to work harder when I have the wind at my back so it doesnt hurt my time so much when I have the head wind. That said I beat my time from last year by 4:10
Transition 2
  • 01m 35s
Comments:

I was feeling a bit tired but tried to run with the bike
What would you do differently?:

Run with the bike Beat by time from last year by 46 sec
Run
  • 29m 33s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

I thought I was running slower than I was. I felt like I kept the same pace the all the way to the end when I picked it up at the end.
What would you do differently?:

Try and push myself to go faster I know I can do it. I beat my time from last year by 2:06
Post race
Warm down:

Hooked up with my wife and kids at the finish drank some water and walked around to cool down. I met up with some friends from the races and as soon as the opened transition back up I took off to go out of town for the rest of the weekend.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need to work on swimming and the mental part of racing. I did feel good but I know I can do better. I KILLED my time from last year by 11 mins.

Event comments:

Great race enjoyed saying hello to fellow BT folks. I will do it again next year.
