Pre-race routine:

Woke-up at 4:25 am. Took breakfast: orange juice, my usual Soy-Protein Shake (Chocolate) and a small bowl of macaroni & cheese.
We already pre-loaded all our bikes and stuff in the car the night before the race.
We left from home at 5:00 am and get there around 5:45 am...the challenger was to find a place in the parking lot...finally we got a spot in the MAST Academy...from there to the transition area was other challenger to find out how to get there in the dark...
Got body mark, placed my stuff and bike in the rack and got my ship...When finally I had all my stuff ready I got out of transition area at 6:30 am.
Went to the bathroom like usual before a race...then got a place to calm down/relax...
Then they announced: the Sprint will be delay till 8:00 am.

Event warmup:

The Olympic started in time at 7:00 am...
I took 2 Hammer Energy Gel with water/accelerade at 7:30 am...put my wet-suit and started to warm-up: stretching my arms and legs and jump into the water...did swim about 1/4 mile...got out the water and waited till 8:00 am when the Sprint started...My wave was the 3rd one...
Swim
  • 15m 33s
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 54s / 100 yards
Comments:

It was a good start...I got to the 1st bouy with the first pelotton of women, keeping my pace, never stopped, the same with the 2nd bouy...from there I started notice that many women started to slow down, no endurance, while I was feeling great...I reached and passed guys from the 2nd wave, excellent performance from that point till the exit...
What would you do differently?:

Continue my training...
Transition 1
  • 02m 33s
Comments:

I did a good transition even I was using my wet-suit and I had to removed ti...
What would you do differently?:

Practice and practice removing the wet-suit...
Bike
  • 43m 6s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 17.26 mile/hr
Comments:

It was a good bike ride...I was cranking very fast...with a good pace...even...it was too crowd...many traffic...it was hard to pass, to avoid to be behind of other riders...
For me was the first time using my new bike in Key Biscayne...and my performance in the bridge was great...When we were in the way to Virginia Key, we had strong winds headwinds and crosswinds...there, just before the U-turn, my good friend and eternal rival finally reached me in her bike...she is usually the fastest in my Age Group...but still... I was very close behind her till the transition area...
What would you do differently?:

Train more and more...
Transition 2
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

I found 2 wet-suits over my bike place in the rack...that made me lose time placing my bike...Grrrrr!!!! I'm usually the fastest in my Age Group.
Run
  • 30m 22s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 48s  min/mile
Comments:

I could do a better performance in my running...I'm usually the fastest in my Age Group, I was the 2nd this time...but...I twisted my ankle one week ago...I was using a wrap in my ankle and I was running with precaution in this trail, many roots, holes, etc...etc. this trail was in very bad condition and not enough wide,...it was hard to pass the people, it was too crwod...I reached and passed my good friend and eternal rival just after the 1st water station...after that I kept a good pace even all the difficults till the finish line...It was not a good time...I have done better...but at least I was the 2nd better time in my Age Group...and...I got 1st place in my Age Group...
What would you do differently?:

Keep my trainings...I know that my running is my strongest activity...
Post race
Warm down:

Walked and walked till I cooled down...drinking water at the same time...and streched my legs...removed the wrap from my ankle...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My ankle and other factors like...the circumstances that made me lose time in the transition area, the difficult to pass people in the bike and running because it was too crowd...and the running trail is not the properly place to race...I had to run with precaution and not like usual...

Event comments:

It could be a better Event for the quality of people that showed for this event...Experience!!!!
The Organazers need to post the results for Age Group with all the details...not...the Overall Result...it's difficult to find out how we did when there are many people...
