Pre-race routine:

Up at 2 am for the drive to the venue, arrival at 4:30, parked by 5, checked in, set up transition and hung out with hubby. Worst case of nerves yet, actually felt like crying at one point.

My mental game was way off on this one.
Event warmup:

None...I always mean to and never do.
Swim
  • 13m 4s
  • 581 yards
  • 02m 15s / 100 yards
Comments:

Panicked a bit at beginning, why? No idea, nerves? Settled down after around 100 yards, and was able to swim normally.

Was not comfy.

Plus - they had wet suit strippers! Very cool.

What would you do differently?:

Warm up.
Transition 1
  • 03m 25s
Comments:

I think the poor swim thru me off in transition, had the hardest time figuring out how to put my socks on!
What would you do differently?:

Take 10 seconds to focus.
Bike
  • 1h 00m 2s
  • 15 miles
  • 14.99 mile/hr
Comments:

I knew about the first hill, and was mentally prepared, it turned out to be entirely doable...it was the third or fourth one that got me! I began the negative self talk and that slowed me down. Considering the hills, I did okay, but I know I could have done much better.
What would you do differently?:

Not listen to my own negativity. Push harder on the hills instead of being wimpy. Train more for hills.
Transition 2
  • 02m 6s
Comments:

Overall, this transition went smoother than the first
Run
  • 30m 2s
  • 3 miles
  • 10m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

My legs warmed up at 1 1/2 miles, and I am unsure if it was more mental than physical. I think I could have gone faster.
What would you do differently?:

I would try to push
Post race
Warm down:

Water and walking.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My mental state. I was exceptionally nervous about this race for no good reason.

Event comments:

This race was well organized, well managed and well attended. I will do it again, with better mental preparation.

Nice race EndorFun!-
