Swim
Comments: Swim went well. Went harder than I should have in hindsight but wouldn't change it either. Sun in the face for first leg, tough sighting. Missed first turn all together till I got T-boned. Remainder not bad. Saw a 170 HR exiting the lake. That can't happen in Austin. It is not worth a good swim to die later. What would you do differently?: Walk around that lake and get a feel for how the sighting will be from other angles. Practice swim run and swim bike bricks to work on getting HR down. Transition 1
Comments: Great T-1 First time using bands and shoes on the bike. Worked great. If not for the long run in and out this would have been much quicker. Glasses and helmet then gone. rank 71st overall 9th AG What would you do differently?: Get a better rack. Forced to rack by age grp which put me further away from the exit then I wanted. T-1 went smooth! Bike
Comments: Good ride. Got feet in shoes prior to hill and velcro on the down hill. It was nice having several waves ahead to reel in. Passed by about 5-7 guys from older waves on fast bikes. Drank whole acceleraid and aero bottle. Had one bottle of water left and no gel. What would you do differently?: Get a gel in early. Get timer on for reminders. Transition 2
Comments: Great T-2 except socks. Bantered back and forth with spectators. Body glide on tongue caused slipping. Had to adjust brief delay Ranking 244 overall 28 AG What would you do differently?: Practice getting in and out of socks/shoes. Try BG on back and side only next race Run
Comments: First 2 miles were strong then things just slowed down. 7:25, 7:43, 9:03 I lost focus and just was jogging. Gotta keep focused on the race. What would you do differently?: Get more nutrition in on bike Post race
Warm down: Walk around several waters and sports drinks What limited your ability to perform faster: Run is my limiter 100 places slower than the swim. Keep running! Get more fluid in on the bike. Practice T-2 and shoes. Keep dropping weight. Event comments: Great event. Highly recommend it and will race it next year Last updated: 2008-03-22 12:00 AM

Based on Tri it in Sp results
Slower swim, slightly faster bike, same run
Woke at 5 1 ensure 1 water 1 acceleraid till 7. Banana and few sips of coffee (bad) took a bagle but could not get it down
Jogged briefly. Evaluated transition setup and how to get in and out for bike. Forgot to do that for the run. Didn't end up costing me. Swam 200ish to get a feel for the lake.
