Swim
What would you do differently?: I could practice more, but without lessons, I doubt my swimming will improve much. Transition 1
Comments: Long uphill run back to transition, so I yanked at my wetsuit the entire time. Felt like I got it off pretty quickly and into my bike shoes What would you do differently?: Would love to be able to jump on my bike with shoes attached...will try to practice next year. Bike
Transition 2
Comments: Felt like I got out of bike and into running shoes pretty quickly. I took my Tylenol, since I tend to get a headache during the run, grabbed a water bottle and sport beans and took off. Didn't need the water bottle and finally just got rid of it shortly after I left transition. What would you do differently?: No need for extra water on this course. Run
Comments: I felt incredibly strong during the run and never once felt like I wasn't going to make it. What would you do differently?: Not much really...I think the running I've been doing lately prepared me for the endurance of this race. Post race
Warm down: Walked around expo with family...home...hot shower...rest...short walk after dinner. What limited your ability to perform faster: My weight...I have to lose 8 pounds! Event comments: Looking forward to next year...this was my favorite tri course so far! Last updated: 2008-03-22 12:00 AM

For the first time, I ate prior to the race. I never eat because I always feel sick with anxiety prior to the race. I ate two pieces of toast and a banana around 4:30am and a package of Sport Beans around 7:10am
Ran into a bunch of people in my AG who work out at the HR Rec Center. Hung out with them, walked the transition area a bit. I slept great and for some reason had no anxiety about the race. I think since my training sucked and my expectations were low, I didn't need to get myself worked up. Also decided not to wear a watch since it was all I focused on during my last race.
