Pre-race routine:

Up at 5:15. Ate small bowl of oatmeal, one piece of toast with peanut butter. 1.5 cups of coffee. Approximately 40 ounces of water, some gatorade and 1/3 of a Clif Bar. Stretched at the hotel and made it to the race just in time.
Event warmup:

Stretching only. Needed more warm-up.

Comments:

For whatever reason, I just didn't have my "A" game today. This was my first race and although I really just wanted to break 2 hours, I felt like I could've gotten closer to 1:50. My heart rate was through the roof at the start and never really came back down. The hasty, unorganized start really messed with my psyche as I lost my pace group friends and started way too far back in the corral. My legs felt heavy and my quads really started to bother me, which they never do. I started way too slowly and had to make up a good amount of time to break 2 hours. I drank plenty on the course, but maybe too much as I felt a little ill after the last water stop.
What would you do differently?:

Get to the starting line much earlier and do more than stretching to warm-up!
Post race
Warm down:

Not much. Walked a bit in the parking lot and did some light stretching. Not enough of either.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My legs feeling far too heavy. I don't know why.

Event comments:

Good race, although the water stops seemed to be a little under-manned.
