![]() Swim
Comments: Water was pretty murky, but I got off to a pretty good start. No complaints, except for the person in front of me I couldn't pass bc they couldn't swim in a straight line... What would you do differently?: I would try my other goggles. I wore my reflective ones, and it was so cloudy/rainy that they were almost hampering me. Also, I should have warmed up. ![]() Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Bring a bigger bucket to sit on. ![]() Bike
Comments: It sucked. The rain was almost sideways at times, and I think I was more wet at the end of the bike than at the end of the run. I did pretty good with the hills, so I wasn't too unhappy. My knee gave me trouble during the run, though, and that is probably due to poor bike fit since it was borrowed. What would you do differently?: Bike shoes, leaving my running shoes covered and remotely dry at T2. Professional bike fitting. ![]() Transition 2
What would you do differently?: See above shoe comment. ![]() Run
Comments: The run wasn't too bad, aside from the hole feet-are-blocks-of-wood problem most people deal with after the bike leg. My toes were numb throughout though, and I wrenched my knee - probably more due to borrowed bike syndrome than anything else. What would you do differently?: Refer back to shoe comment above. ![]() Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Borrowed bike and rain Event comments: No timing chips probably keeps the entry fee down, but I wish I'd worn a watch to know my splits in transition and the bike. A fun event for my first tri - I will definitely repeat next year! Last updated: 2008-03-27 12:00 AM
