Run
Comments: Wanted to start out slower, but Garmin 405 was losing signal in the city (first 4.5miles) so I didn't have an accurate pace, which I was counting on. Took 2 enduralytes around mile 7.5, grabbed a powerbar gel, and ate it going downhill after the bridge. Took water or cytomax at every stop except the one by the art museum before you turn onto west river drive (too congested), and the very last one (didn't feel I needed since less than 2 miles left). Picked up pace comfortably after mile 10. Legs were getting tight and bottom of feet started getting a numbing feeling after mile 10. What would you do differently?: Start a hair slower. Post race
Warm down: Got food/drink/metal, met GF by fountain, then John & Jeff & Carolyn met us there too. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. HR was above 180 from mile 10-> on. Event comments: Great Race! Was my first half marathon last year, ran 1:35:46, then ran the Disney half in January 08, the day before I tried (and failed) to qualify for Boston, at 8:19pace, and this was my 3rd half, with a new PR! Goal for Vegas Half on December 7, 2008: Beat 7minute pace. Secondary goal: Break 1:30:00! Last updated: 2008-03-31 12:00 AM

Woke 4:30, 25 min before alarm. Lubed up (body glide), got dressed, Picked up GF and had coffee & banana @ her house, then picked up John and drove to race. Parked at Eastern State Pennitentiary for only $7, only a few blocks from the start.
Sat around, sticked legs, stretched a little, sat some more. Wore black trashbag until entered corral #1 about 5 minutes before race start. Took 2 shots hammergel/5drops creatine mixture 15 minutes before start.
