  • Comments: Getting to the expo was painful. It cost $18.00 to park. That sucks. It would be nice if Philadelphia coordinated the parking so that people with bibs could park free. The race was very well organized considering 30,000 runners. Lots of porti Potties. I was disappointed that there were not more bands and cheerleaders. I have been to several Rock and Roll series and there were less in this on than any other. The people of Philadelphia are great and were very inspirational.

  • Comments: This was my first Rock & Roll event, and honestly I was expecting more... well... rock & roll. There were probably 5-6 bands scattered around the course, most of whom were played slow music when I ran by. I would estimate that I was within earshot of music for about 5 minutes during my nearly 2 hours of running. I guess that explains why I saw so many people with ipods. Other than that, I thought the race was impeccably organized. I have never seen port-a-potty lines so short before a race. And plenty of post race food - both amount and variety. I had to leave before the post-race concert but I heard it was some American Idol retread, so no big loss.

  • Comments: Pretty cool event. My only complaint is I'd like to see drink stations every mile or so. They had eight, if I recall correctly; 11 or 12 would've been better.

  • Comments: What a fun race. Very well organized for the size. Venue was great. Beautiful weekend in Philly. The live bands were awesome, and I think that drew even more people to come out and cheer. The post race concert was great. My wife and I are now planning on signing up for Rock 'n' Roll races in other towns to check them out!

  • Comments: I love running downtown, along the Parkway and then along the river drives (MLK/West River & Kelly Drive). Not to mention it was practically a picture perfect day with respect to the weather.

  • Comments: I thought this race was put on very well, everything seemed to run smoothly, which I'm sure is not an easy thing in a big city with this many participants. I didn't really like the cattle shute style drink/snack tunnel after the race. There was no way around it and once you were out of it right after the race you couldn't get more, so since I wasn't hungry right after the race i didn't grab enough stuff. Plus I didn't see the brownie guy at all! Seriously, how could I have missed Entenman's brownie bites!!

  • Comments: This is a great race, with a fast, flat course and usually the beginning of cooler fall weather. I may be looking for a PR again next year here. They might want to consider actually holding between corrals to ease congestion, but I was happy overall.

  • Comments: I hate to call a half marathon easy, but there is no section of the course that challenges you. Perfect first half-marathon - course has lots of shade, tons of aid stations and race was very well organized. Loved the corral start - much better than Broad Street Run start.

  • Comments: How can you complain about a race you PR'd on? It was a beautiful day to run, the weather was awesome and it was a pretty course. There were lots of volunteers and unlike finishing IMLP, I actually heard the announcer say "Here's Beth Sanborn from Lansdale". It was a great day all in all.

  • Comments: Great Race! Was my first half marathon last year, ran 1:35:46, then ran the Disney half in January 08, the day before I tried (and failed) to qualify for Boston, at 8:19pace, and this was my 3rd half, with a new PR! Goal for Vegas Half on December 7, 2008: Beat 7minute pace. Secondary goal: Break 1:30:00!

  • Comments: Philly is a great race, and I recommend it for those who like half marathons or those looking to do a first half. It's well supported, well staffed, and overall a lot of fun. One gripe, the medals were a lot better last year. They were bigger, and didn't have the stupid ING logo on it. I generally hate medals with the sponsor's logo on it (the Baltimore marathon is an exception, since I just think UA has a cool logo). This is one more of the elite races I've done this year, so I only need San Jose to get the Rockstar medal and San Antonio (registered for both) to get all the medals they offer, including the Super 6! I plan on running San Jose as an easy training run, since I'm racing in the Baltimore marathon 6 days later.

  • Comments: A 'class A' race. The women's US silver medalist in the 2008 Beging Olympics was running this race. Certainly adds to the stature. Volunteers great, energy very high and the largest crowd in race history. I've never run with that many people in the same place before. AWESOME!!

  • Comments: I didn't see a medical tent at all at the finish and couldn't walk long enough to find one. I guess I need to re-think this running thing. I will never be able to run. My average run time is 15 minute miles. People were walking 13 and 14 minute miles. All that pounding on a soon to be 54 year old frame to not get anywhere is pointless. Sorry for the downer, but I've been at this for 4 years and haven't gotten anywhere, but poorer.

  • Comments: Great race, just seems to be getting better. Philly puts on a great show. Only thing was they didn't have any directions to the food and there were so many people, I ended up skipping it. Cool shirt and medal this year.

  • Comments: I totally missed my goal time by 18 minutes, but for the first time, I am totally ok with it. Let's face it, a little over a year ago, and my life was almost over. I was an alcoholic and an addict. NOW, I can run a half marathon. I don't care that I didn't do good, I'm just glad I was here to do it. Next year though, watch out. I'm gonna smoke that course!

  • Comments: It was a nice race...the setting was so cool. The race course took you through downtown Philly, so if you're able to take in the scenery, it would be a nice tour. I was busy weaving in-and-out of people trying to stick to my pace.
