Run
Comments: I was running with the last person. Talk about feeling like a slow poke, but then I remembered that most of these people are doing shorter distance stuff and probably haven't been marathon training. My pace doesn't really vary that much based on distance because I'm not a strong runner. I usually average 13:30 miles, so this was pretty decent. I felt good though, and was just determined to finish. What would you do differently?: Nothing really, other than spending some time working on my pace this summer. Transition 1
Comments: This was a much improved transition time for me. I didn't waste any time and was in and out. I was 54/95 for T1. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: I am really proud of my bike. I can see my training paying off because I felt much more comfortable on the hills and I wasn't afraid of them like I've been in the past. Stone Mountain training has paid off! I passed 2 people on the bike. Considering how far back I was, that made me happy! What would you do differently?: Just continue to get stronger. Transition 2
Comments: I added Yankz to my shoes and I think that helped tremendously. I am really proud of this transition as well! I was 42/95 for T2. So that part of the race is MOP! What would you do differently?: Nada. Run
Comments: This was probably one of the first bricks I've done in a long time. So my legs felt like cement. But I made it through without walking, and that was my goal. What would you do differently?: More bricks! Post race
Warm down: Grabbed some water and half a PBJ sandwich. Waited around to watch awards since I normally miss them. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just the general stuff that I already know about - drop some weight and try to speed up. I felt much more confident in this race though, even though I was at the back of the pack. Event comments: This was a good tune up to St. Anthony's because it gave me a few things to think about. Plus - I got an award for first place Athena. Who cares if I was the ONLY Athena ;) I'm still proud of my award! In terms of Transition times, I was 54/95 for T1 and 42/95 for T2. So that part of the race is MOP! Last updated: 2008-03-31 12:00 AM

Woke up and had some oatmeal. Headed to the race site around 6:45AM. Got my chip and set up in transition. Second rack from the front, second bike in. I was happy with my spot and spent the rest of the time hanging out, waiting for the race to start.
Took my bike out for a minute just to check gears and make sure everything was ok since I'd driven from Atlanta the day before.
