Pre-race routine:

Woke up at like 5, ate 1/2 a clif bar and tried to take care of the morning P's. Organized transition and hangged out with my Tmac, Anna and Pipe.

mmmm, getting in my freakin wetsuit was a warm up!

Clearly, I don't swim this fast so there was something wrong with their calculations of the lake. It was a two loop swim, it was fun, except for the guy that kept hitting me in the head, he made me swallow a lot of water til I decided to open up a bit and use a lot of my legs... which might hav ebeen a mistkae.
What would you do differently?:

kicked the crap out of the guy thta kept hitting me in the head...or simply passed him and waved or patted him on the back...
i need to work on my swim, i was very bad at sighting.

i am really happy with my bike performance, I FINALLY had a computer, so I was able to see how fast I was going.It really made all the difference. I had cramops on my groin and thighs at mile 36 when in aero position, so I had to get off it for a substantial amount of time during the ride. I was worried about the run, but i was fine. I saw a couple of guys fall, so I WAS A BIT scared of falling. Beautiful ride around the countryside... i passed 5 people and was passed by like 3 early on, then I was by myself from mile 17 til 58. It was AWESOME...i sang most of the time, it was really great seeing Tom in the corner cheering me on. I did well with nutrition on bike. I followed TG and 007 advice.
What would you do differently?:

i need to work on gears,posture,nutrition, speed. just go riding with TG, linda and my Tmac.

I thought I had run a faster half mary, I had more in me. The garmin my lil bro gave me, made alll the difference, i was able to keep track of my pace I got tired until i had 2 miles left and honestly could have kept on going. This was totally my best segment and the most fun, I passed most of the girls and was able to do it thanks to the best cheerleader Tom and Anna. THey were FKN AWESOME!!!! anytime I was a bit down, they appeared. I won't get into the girl that cheated, but she was DQ and sure motivated me for the last 4 miles of the run.

Seeing my Brother running was so inspiring, it was great!!!!!

What would you do differently?:

push myself more.

Kissed my tmac and got into the lake..it was awesom

Event comments:

It was as super fun race, very well organized. The race Director is absolutely awesome guy! This was an awesome first HIM experience... the race was small and at the end all faces were simply familiar, it was great!
