Swim
Comments: Got into the water just in time for the horn. Wish I had time to warm up but oh well... It was me and to other guys in the chase pack. I'm not in the great swim shape at all so pretty stoked I got 4/26 in my AG. Water was warm. What would you do differently?: Warm up Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Nice ride. Passed a bunch of people and didn't get passed once. Much different than my first tri where I was passed by everyone on the bike. I got 4/26 in my AG on the bike as well. Solid performance Transition 2
Comments: Hands were too cold to tie shoes. Cost me atleast 20 seconds. Run
Comments: Grrr. I came into the run in a solid third place. A good 2 minutes ahead of the guy in fourth! My run sucked. I am so pissed. I got 16/26 in my AG. Far off from the 4/26 I got in both the bike and swim. Would have had a podium spot if I could just run!!! The sad thing is that I ran fast for me. So weak What would you do differently?: Run faster Post race
Warm down: Walk around, at food provided. Stretched for about 10 mins.... watched other finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: I forgot my race drink so I drank NOTHING on the course. Felt my legs starting to cramp up towards end of run. Also, had no warm-up due to getting to the race too late. Was rushed to just make my wave on time, made it with about 10 second to spare. Tying shoes in T2 was bad...That cost me fourth place. Oh ya and I suck at running!!!!!!!! Event comments: Great race. Nice area and super fast course besides the sand on the run. It was a wam bam thank you maam kind of race. Not the kind of race I am training for. I like to pace and go longer but doing a sprint was fun and a good experience. Overall pretty stoked I got 5/26 in my AG in my second tri ever. Just need to run faster and I would be a competitive AG'er for a podium spot. Will like to do it again next year after I have a year of run training under my belt and see if I can finish significantly faster. Not getting there with time to spare made me anxious and deffinatly affected my preparation which I think is important for a race of such short distances. Last updated: 2008-04-03 12:00 AM
