Not much - just stretching
Run
  • 27m 17s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 46s  min/mile
Comments:

This leg felt good - I kept telling myself not to push too hard, but I was going at a good clip. I was a little cold because I left my gloves in the transition area while I used the loo, and then couldn't get back in because they had turned the timing mats on. This was a 5k PR for me, so either I am truly a faster runner than I thought or I pushed a little too hard. I prefer to think it's the former, since I didn't really bonk today...
What would you do differently?:

Get my gloves out of the transition area before they closed it!
Transition 1
  • 01m 52s
What would you do differently?:

Practice transitions ahead of time and then actually hurry! I'm a big transition lollygagger.
Bike
  • 1h 05m 1s
  • 30 kms
  • 27.69 km/hr
Comments:

I had a pretty good bike, and I wonder what I would actually be capable of if I were to try harder. I don't tend to push very hard on the bike. But I was very happy with my performance, as I averaged 16.6 mph, which is very good for me.
What would you do differently?:

Push harder and practice more on hills.
Transition 2
  • 01m 35s
Comments:

Again, I didn't really hurry here. But my feet had totally fallen asleep or were just frozen solid in my wet socks, so I was loathe to start on the run too quickly.
What would you do differently?:

Practice transitions ahead of time.
Run
  • 30m 33s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 49s  min/mile
Comments:

This did not go very well. I took at least 5-7 walk breaks! My feet were frozen solid or asleep, and felt awful for the first mile and a half. The wind started gusting and I sort of gave up and walked up every hill. I have no idea how I finished at a sub 10:00 min/mile pace with all of the walking.
What would you do differently?:

Hmmm...not sure. I think I need to address the foot numbness issue on my bike, since that is obviously a problem. I may need to get my bike re-fit, and get some sort of insole in my cleat. I should also do more bricks to get used to the bike/run feeling.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched while waiting in line for a massage

Event comments:

Great race! Well organized, and everyone I met was really friendly.
