Swim
Comments: Never could get my anxiety down; could not get in a rhythm. My swim stunk. Passing and getting passed in the lanes was difficult; I'll have to work on that in training. Congestion at the turnarounds was tough too. What would you do differently?: I told myself during warm up that I will have to breathe on one side every two strokes instead of my every three strokes as I was running out of air on 3-stroke breathing. I failed to remember this nor incorporate it until the last 100 meters; that is when I started passing people. Transition 1
Comments: This was my first road tri, so I put my sox and shoes on at my transition station. I know I lost time, but I had to calm myself down. I was very deliberate and methodical without being too slow. I wanted to get everything right and not "fumble around." What would you do differently?: Have my shoes clipped in and possibly go sockless. Put my gloves in my pocket on my shirt and work them on during the ride. Bike
Comments: Bike was good as that is my best discipline. I did hit 38 mph at one time though! What would you do differently?: Work on T1! Get aerobars or spring for a tri-bike. Transition 2
Comments: I took my shoes off at T2 instead of before getting off the bike. Could have done better in transition. What would you do differently?: T2 needs work. Run
Comments: Not bad. Could have focused on my stride a bit more. Was enjoying the run. Very humid and no wind on the run though! What would you do differently?: Worked on my stride a bit more as it was only a 2 mile run. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Swim congestion and inexperience with swimming with lots of other people in the same lane. Event comments: I'll definitely do it again next year!!!! Last updated: 2008-04-20 12:00 AM

Swam 300 meters. Never could get my rhythm. Couldn't lower my anxiety level, couldn't get my breathing controlled during warmup.
