Swim
Comments: Started near back again and then had a hard time getting past people. Kept hitting their legs and couldn't get between, so I swam way outside and not a direct route to buoy at all. What would you do differently?: Try starting a little closer to front and just swim for it! Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Just need to be smoother here. Transition times weren't broken out from overall bike time. Bike
Comments: Biking was good, but since they include transition times in my total bike time looks pitiful! I was actually passing quite a few peeps. But also got passed some, mostly by the men from the wave behind us. Transition 2
Run
Comments: As in last time, my run time was competitive for my age group. I seem to have plenty of endurance at the run. The sand prevented me from hitting it harder. I was afraid I'd tweak my calf again. I did wear the brace as a precaution. I had quite a kick (for me) and was getting a bit light headed at the end. I hadn't slept well in a couple of nights so that contributed to the light-headedness, me thinks. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Walk around. Stretch. Drink water, eat oranges. What limited your ability to perform faster: My calf. My inability to swim farther up. Event comments: I have only done 2 at this point, so my experience is limited. The atmosphere wasn't as light and friendly for me as the Desert Tri was. Glad I did it and glad I did the full sprint and not the super sprint. Last updated: 2008-04-24 12:00 AM
