Run
Comments: Started out up front. I wanted to distance myself from some runners in my agegroup. Was able to lead until mile 2. Was passed by 2 in my agegroup and one from 45-49. All guys I knew. Pushed hard and tride to keep them in site. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: fastest in the agegroup. In an out. Got the helmet and shoes on quickly. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Bike
Comments: I started pretty conservative. I beat Scott F. out of T1 and wanted to keep him at bay. My sights were on Dean M. Both from Fast Forward. I caught Dean at mile 5 and blew by him. I felt very comfortable in my hard gear and was keeping HR manageable. At the turn around I saw Kilo Dave and wanted to catch him. I pushed harder on the way back and was not passed by any one. Passed many other on route to a pretty good bike split for having very few biking miles under my belt. Check my log! GOt ready to hold off everyone on the run! What would you do differently?: Nothing, great race management. Transition 2
Comments: My hands were cold and I had a bit of trouble getting the running shoes on. Second fastest. Scott F beat me by 1 second. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Ran with high cadence at the start because my feet felt like stumps because they were cold. Just kept pushing. Wanted to just run hard and hold everyone off in the agegroup. I did. Noone passed me and I knew I had won the agegroup. Felt real happy with my effort for the day. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Jogged with F4 Scott and some other guys and Richard rode along side and we talked about the race. I placed myself 1st overall in the amateur ranks. However onlly 7 elites beat me. What limited your ability to perform faster: Biking. Event comments: Great early season DU. I won a pint glass and hung out with Richard and other Bters. BT did awesome today. Scott (peto primo) was 1st or 2nd Clyde. And KiloDave was 2nd in 35-39. Awesome day. Really can't believe I had such a good race! Last updated: 2008-04-26 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:30 and ate 1 flax plus waffle with peanut butter and a banana and 1 chocolate cookie and a glass of milk. Yummy cookie. Drove to the race about 5 miles away and got a great transition spot up front.
Ran a bit and did some dynamic stretching. My legs were still very sore from the sprinting at softball 2 days ago. I was worried. Peed a few times and tried to stay warm. It was raining and cold at the start.
