Run
Comments: The run was good. It took a bit for my feet to warm up but other than that it was a decent run. What would you do differently?: Start a little more toward the front of the wave. Transition 1
Comments: Good transition, just a long way to get to my spot. What would you do differently?: Get my bike in a better position so that I didn't have to run as far in cycling shoes and pushing my bike. Bike
Comments: I liked this course except for the bumps on the park roads where they have sealed cracks. Some of them felt like potholes! The Dam road was great but it felt like it went on forever..a lot longer than it looks. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Better position in transition Run
Comments: Legs felt like crap for the first mile or so. Just tried to concentrate on turnover What would you do differently?: Push a little harder. Probably could have gone a little faster here but I was really feeling the previous legs. Post race
Warm down: Stretching and water Event comments: This was a great race aside from the rain at the start and the gale-force winds at the finish. I've done two duathlons before, but this was my first run-bike-run race. I liked the set-up and will deffinately do this one again. Oh, and no flat tire this time! YAHOO!! Got up at the crack of dawn to get on the road and up to Denver for race start. Had some coffee and cereal for breakfast.
My warm-up for this was just keeping dry and trying to keep my body temp up in the rain. Probably should have turned the legs over a bit but didn't.
