Pre-race routine:

With triathlon club, slept at Kyle's house, got to the race early- picked up packets set up Transition area and hurry up and wait!

I stretched a little but not too much. I was mostly just nervous.

None- I could have swam but I didn't.

It was fine, I loved it when I passed the JMU TRI kids and they were yelling my name. I smiled so wide I think I drank some water.
What would you do differently?:

Going under the lap lanes to get into the next lane was hard, and I was way out of my league, people passed me so much.

What would you do differently?:

Maybe a little faster. I need to practice drying off and putting shoes on. I also had grass on my feet!

It was flat compared to Harrisonburg, no crazy turns, regular road for cars and it was an open course.

Maybe pumped a little more, I really don't remember, I was just going to finish.

I did really bad, I walked more than I wanted to. Luckily I fueled on the first mile with a gel. But then I walked. I cheered other people on.
What would you do differently?:

I need to practice way more, those times are horrible.

Stretch here and there. Ate food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough practice, but it was my first race and I was really happy when I finished.

Smithfield is good, I'll do it again with TRI club.
