Swim
Comments: Swim felt pretty good. I did a couple flip turns then opted not to. the night before the race I jumped in the pool to test out the snake swimming. I was doing really well then all of the sudden I was not able to do flip turns. I had been doing flip turns for last 3 months! NEVER just doing touches. It was th nerves. I did come up on one woman however i was lucky. I touched her ankle right before we hit a wall. So I was able just to go to the left lane and turn. Second issue I had was the wrist band for my garmin got caught on the rope. Not a big issue, but could have been. What would you do differently?: Flip turns! Maybe not practice the night before. Transition 1
Comments: Had a hard time of getting my right foot into my pedals again. What would you do differently?: Maybe think about having my shoes in the peddles as I seem to always have issues with this, Bike
Comments: Bike was pretty good. I was breathless for a good while. This course is by far hilliest What would you do differently?: have more practice on hills before race. I must blow away others on the bike in order for me to win this event. Transition 2
Comments: T2 was good. I remembered my garmin! Run
Comments: Run felt pretty good. I tried to relax. I felt really good at probably 1.5 miles. I could tell about 2.5 miles I had some lactate building up. I did a nice job on the hills and tried to take advantage of the downhills Post race
Warm down: Uh...Talk! What limited your ability to perform faster: No real excuses except I gotta get my run lower 22's and be a powerhouse on the bike! Event comments: LeMars YMCA - Angela has done a great job with this race. Best overall prizes in an event I have been in. 2nd place I got: YMCA bag, plaque, medal, waterbottle, sport shamy towel, light for running/biking, airtank for quick flats on bike...and a few other things! 1st prize was all this stuff with a waterproof mp3/fm player Foold - BY FAR THE BEST! Athletes get a grilled chicken meal aftewards..if you do get fed usually it is brats/hot dogs. Last updated: 2008-05-04 12:00 AM
