Swim
Comments: Ok....so we went out to have fun...couldnt figure out why everyone was going so much faster then us? It had to be the canoe...it was yellow and we wanted a red one. Funny story and I am sorry if you are a BT'er but I had to laugh my ass off....(not in front of you) We get down the course and we are thinking wow I bet we're have way and this guy has a garmin...nope only gone 1.4 miles....LOL We keep going Im singing splashing myself and just having a grand time and this couple passes us....he has a white skin tight long sleeve underarmor shirt and she has long blonde hair in a pony tail and hat. He made some kinda comment dont remember what is was? Shorty down the river he gets them hung up on a sandbar or gravel whatever its called they cant move...hehehehe...he is pushing cussing and everything and they are stuck! There are also some small rapids here. He finally has to get his leg over and start pushing them out and I keep looking back to check it out....finally there're off. They end up passing us again and about another mile I look ahead and I said oh shit...look.....someone had capsized there canoe and I knew it would be them.....yulp it was.....she is hanging on to the canoe floating down the river he is on the shore and some folks go over and put him in with them....he doesnt look happy...very pisses....we get to where the woman has found a shallow enough place to stop the conoe and herself and she stands up and holds on the canoe but she looks like she is still smiling so that was good to see. I know I shouldnt laugh but I thought damn KARMA.....thats some bad freakin luck to have shit happen twice in just 6 miles! LOL Transition 1
Bike
Comments: We ran before the bike so that was different for me. It did take about 2-3 miles for my legs to get ready to bike and I thought to myself maybe that commuter will go faster because I feel the same on this bike today as I did on it yesterday. My friend has not been on a bike in over 20 years and she borowed my sons last week just to get a feel for it. She does run marathons alot and is just tiny so I figured she would be fine. I liked the course alot and a couple times I took off and then waited. I think I could have easily average 19mph on this course. She got very tired with about 6 miles to go but I kept talking to her and she made it fine What would you do differently?: nothing....we had a blast and that is what we went out to do Transition 2
Run
Post race
Event comments: We had a great time......It was organized very nicely. Not as tight of a crowd as you get at a real triathlon and just doing the TTT last week that was disappointing. I always enjoy giving shout outs to my fellow triathletes. On the canoe there was a male/female team and they were singing and I joined in. Last updated: 2008-05-17 12:00 AM

drove to the race way out in nowhere....poor Kelly gets car sick and this was a really twisty turny ride all the way. We were about 15 miles from the race and she had to have me pull over so there went her breakfast. Thing was we had a bagel at 6am and our race didnt start until 9:28
walking the bikes to the "transition" area and then down this crazy hill to the canoe start. Yes we had to climb back up this hill!
