Pre-race routine:

woke up at 3:30, had my Boost and started getting ready. Took the shuttle from Hotel Del to Balboa Park, and arrived at the start line at 5:15 or so. Sat in the grass with my mom, shared a banana, and had a sip of coffee.
Event warmup:

Walked around, saw a few Sally, Jen, Josh, and some RW people.
  • 4h 17m 19s
  • 26.2 miles
  • 09m 49s  min/mile

1st 8 miles felt great, abdominal pain hit me like bricks.... although I continued drinking my infinit and through every aid station, I was becomming increasingly dehydrated.
What would you do differently?:

don't eat anything different before the race.... stick with my homemade pasta
Post race
Warm down:

walked around, waited to see mom.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Event comments:

I met Frank Shorter, Bart Yasso, and Dean Karnazes at the expo!! I had fun up 'till mile 13 or so, but the FE with the RW people, Tanya and Faeron was awesome!!! While waiting for my mom to come in, the announcer announced at aound the 5:30 range, that a elite woman was about to cross the finish line, and something went terribly wrong. My race was bad, but it was humbly, it could have been MUCH worse.

Course: beautiful!! loved the course. Harder than P.F. Changs in my opinion. High humidity, my sweat would not evaporate! Started at Balboa Park, and ended in a Marine base.
