Run
Comments: Good run.... pace about right. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Did better than expected on bike segment. Pace was good while still holding back from going all out. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Got my HRM working properly for the next run segment. Run
Comments: I was progressivly getting hotter as I ran. My HR was going up and I was running slowly. By the time I reached the 3.1 mile turn around my HR was in the 160's. After reaching the 3.1 mile turn around I began a run and walk routine which I continued to the finish line. I was pretty much cooked and could no longer run an extended period of time. Temps by this time were in the low 80's and it was sunny. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Event comments: First ever race at a the Olympic distance; 5K run, 40K bike, 10K run. Thought I did well..... I did exceed my expectations. Last updated: 2008-05-20 12:00 AM

Light stretching before leaving hotel. Breakfast; 1 1/2, Bob Evans biscuits.
At the race site, I discovered I had forgotten my two water bottles for the bike segment. Had to drive back to the hotel for them with just 40 minutes before the start of the race. Stressful......I made it back in time for the start of the race.
