Swim
Comments: good swim, wanted to do 1:30:00 and did just under. The only problem was that my wet suit came unzipped and I kne something was "different" but did not figure out that wet suit zipped was down until I had swam about .25 mile. Once I discovered what it was zipped up and let cord lay over my shoulder. When I got out my feet were numb from the cold but the rest f me was fine. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 1
Comments: volunteers took my suit off. When I went to change I had a lot of grass on my feet and had to try and get it off but did not have a towel. What would you do differently?: Have towel to clean and dry feet Bike
Comments: see above. very sore feet, toes, neck and wrists by race end What would you do differently?: more training. Longest ride this year was 50 miles because I focused on swim and run training. Need more bike training time Transition 2
Comments: volunteers took bike, transition was okay, got socks changed and shoes on okay What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: feet were very sore coming off bike, new shoes were not helping, to tight, had to stop and try and adjust laces. Also change to old shoes at 13 mile marker which help some. At some grapes at about 6 miles and I think gave me the poops, had to go three times during my second lap. Legs felt good but feet ankles were hurting quite an bit and back was a little sore. What would you do differently?: I think the bad bike and feet issues from the bike carried over into my run. I think I could have done much better if my feet were not so sore and I had not eaten the grapes. Chicken broth seemed to be okay and I alternated water and gatoraide. Had a few oatmeal cookies the last 5 miles and a small amount of coke Post race
Warm down: had some pizza at the race finish, then went to Laurines house and had some lazagnia. Felt pretty good after race. Tough to get up and go to airport at 5am was begining to get a little sore What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough Bike training which also affected my run Event comments: very good race. Had a great time, just wish I had done better because I know I should be able to do 13 hours Last updated: 2008-05-28 12:00 AM

got up at 3am at breakfast bar, got to transition when it opened at 5am. Pumped up tires, put water bottles on bike, turned in special needs bags.
Got in water and swam the 10 yards to start. Started about 10 yards from front, a little right of center.
