Swim
Comments: Started out a little too quickly and my heartrate got out of control making it difficult to breath properly. After a 200 yards or so the heartrate and breathing were under control. I had some water get in my left goggle so I had to drain that out about half way through the swim. Lots of big rocks under the water where we had to exit the lake. Stepped on a couple of these but managed not to fall over. There was quite a long run from the water to where we crossed the timing mat. What would you do differently?: Try to have a smoother start and build up to speed. Transition 1
Comments: This was the first sprint race I have used my garmin. I had it ready to put on in T1 however I couldn't get it on my wrist. Wasted a bunch of time. I either need to get a velco watch band or mount the garmin on the bike. Bike
Comments: The course description said one big hill at the beginning followed by rolling hills. I think this was a bit off. The first hill was a monster and so were 2 other hills. I think I got down to 6mph going up one of the hills. There were a couple of railroad tracks to go over that came at points where we were carrying a lot of speed. Kind of scary but had no issues. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I ran the first and third mile well the second was kind of slow. My watch showed about 45 seconds faster than what they had recorded. Kind of strange. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: I took a solid 3 weeks off in May to let my body heal so given that I was pleased at how things turned out. Event comments: This was the first year for this race. I really enjoyed it and will be back. Last updated: 2008-06-02 12:00 AM

Woke up and had some oatmeal. Left the house at 5:30am to drive to the race site. Went the wrong way and had to backtrack so I lost about 30 minutes.
Didn't have time for any warmup since I was running late.
