Run
Comments: Even at 8am the sun was up with a vengeance. Happy with split time, and would have been happy with that just in a standalone 5k! What would you do differently?: Ease back to maybe 7:40 - 8mpm Transition 1
Comments: Not got a lot to compare with as this was my first on-road multi-sport event. Pretty happy with T1 transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Thank goodness the long uphill was mainly shaded, as if it was exposed it would have been a furnace. Very happy with my bike leg, and seemed to cope well on road bike, though the tri-specific bikes had me on the flats in their aero tuck. What would you do differently?: Perhaps not put so much in on the bike so that I leave enough for the run. Transition 2
Run
Comments: Same as first but hotter. Took a lot of determination to not stop and walk, but at times it felt like I was going slow enough to be walking anyway. What would you do differently?: Save a bit on the bike for the final run. Post race
Event comments: Well organised. These guys have obviously done this before! Would recommend to anyone looking for a challenging sprint distance, as the bike hills can make or break your day. Last updated: 2008-06-08 12:00 AM
