haha awesome. the water was pretty shallow so i did a running-hopping-diving-swimming 440 yards :) i ran behind people swimming and got a good draft, that counts right!?! came out of the water with a great time but definitely jacked my HR up through the roof.

decent transition, still need to get faster though. shouldnt have wasted time wearing socks for this but i didnt want to blister up my feet. fumbled with my helmet strap for about 15 secs but other than that and my crappy spot there wasnt much else i would do differently.

solid ride. goal going in was to just pound it and then hang on during the run. since i was in the last wave of the swim the course was a huge mess of people by the time i got out there so that definitely cost me time in the first 4-5 miles before i hit some open gaps. i was passing people like nuts and having fun slingshot drafting people again :) did get passed twice on the ride but managed to stay with one of the guys and legal draft off him for awhile. HR was crazy high the whole ride but i ignored it and just kept pounding, good race strategy huh? legs felt pretty good but i could still feel the fatigue of the last two weekends. overall i was pumped about the ride and i got to transition just hoping that i could hang on to something decent on the run!

ouch yo! didnt think i had this left in the tank but i just held on as long as possible and then kicked it as hard as i could at the end. the big hill out of transition was really tough for the first 1/2 mile until i hit a good rhythm and then i felt better. once again my HR was insanely high but i just kept my chin down and kept pushing because i knew i was winning my wave after i passed the one guy in front of me about 1 mile in. kept pushing until i got to the hill and then just let it loose and picked people off the whole way down but i wish i would have been just a little bit faster because i ended up in 4th in my AG by less than 1 second (if only he had been in my wave i would have caught him for sure :))and if i was 3 seconds faster i would have been 16th OA. still cant believe that i pulled this run off though...i think that this is only about 44 seconds more than my fastest open 5k! time to start running more again now that my leg is starting to feel better so i can whip some tail!

best race of my 1 year career :) im very happy with how i did and it was fun to go fast but it sure hurts! i like the long slow stuff better :)
