Swim
Comments: How anyone got a good time on this course is beyond me. Every time I thought I was starting to get in a groove I ran into another walker or someone coming the other way. I used some lady that was walking alongside me during the swim for navigation. I figured she couldn't screw it up too bad. What would you do differently?: Find some deeper water to swim in Transition 1
Comments: Gotta lose the 8 lbs I picked up over the winter that I've been dragging around all spring. Getting out of the wetsuit was difficult at best. Otherwise not an altogether bad transition. What would you do differently?: Practice T1 Bike
Comments: Felt really good on the bike and never went too far into the red (which is a common problem for me early in the bike leg). Kept the goal of passing more people than passed me, and closed it off strong. What would you do differently?: Nothing, except maybe go faster...yeah I would definitely do that Transition 2
Comments: Pretty good T2 time for me. No screwing around since I knew I was feeling strong and didn't want to waste a good bike leg What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Run felt awesome. Not the fastest run leg ever, but I felt strong and passed a ton of people. Started developing some cramping in my side and along my diaphragm, but pushed through it and it eventually passed. Had an excellent run down the hill and a strong kick at the end. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Walked it off a bit, got some fruits from the tent, drank my endurox, changed, worked the massage stick for a few minutes, packed my car up and drove home. Got back home right just after noon. Event comments: Second time doing it and I will be back in '09 Last updated: 2008-06-23 12:00 AM

Went to see Jack Johnson on Saturday night at Alpine Valley and got home at about Midnight. woke up at 3AM and got on the road right after 3:30AM <== YUCK. Ate a PBJ and a banana on the way up, drank some water, got in and registered a little after 5:45AM.
Struggled to get my wetsuit on. Didn't need it for the water temp, but I take any opportunity to get used to swimming in it that I can. Swam about 5-10 minutes, only about 2-3 minutes seriously, the rest was just splashing around in the water.
