Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4:50 and drove up to Georgetown. Had a coffee and bagel with peanut butter. Arrived at the race plenty early and waited awhile for the bus to drive us to Loveland.

I had a Gu about 10 minutes before the start of the race and that worked out well. I had one more at mile 10.
Event warmup:

That's what the first two miles are for.

Comments:

I set a new P.R. by about 3 minutes but this course had so much downhill I kind of felt like I was cheating. I doubt I could have run this pace on a flat course.
What would you do differently?:

Trained more but what else is new?
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed a water and then walked to the shuttle to go back to the lake. Hurried home then spent the afternoon parked on a beach chair while the kids swam at the pool.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The beginning of the run was quite a cluster. We all had chips but I later realized there was no mat to cross and we all had the same start time...despite many of us were in the back and barely ran for the first 1/2 mile trying to get around walkers. I think I wasted 1-2 minutes in the beginning but next time I will know.

Event comments:

This was a really low key race. It started late because people were still getting on the bus. I was really frustrated and how confusing the start was...why bother having chips if everyone has the same start time?

The scenery was good and the course was a fast one. I had plenty of water but they should offer Gu on the route (I had my own).

Still waiting for the race results to be posted on-line and I'll finish my race report.

Performance:
Course: The first five miles were on a dirt road, then a frontage road, then a bike trail and the last mile was through town. Most of the race was downhill. There were a few uphills but very mild. At the end the elevatio drop was huge. The last mile are so was flat/uphill and was a killer after all the downhill. The scenery was great.
